I began work during the summer of 1980 as a laborer in my father's general contracting company in Sagaponack, New York.
My first set of tools? A broom, flat shovel, and a bucket. The task I was given was to observe the trades, help when needed, and keep the work site clean, well organized, and safe.
The lesson I learned was respect for the trades, and by 1987, I was in charge of the company and understood the meaning of clear communication and fiduciary responsibility between my team, our valued subcontractors, suppliers, and our clients.
During the years that followed, I came to understand what life in the Hamptons meant as a business owner working in one of the singularly most affluent communities in the United States.
Being offered work by some of the most demanding architects and designers on the basis of their high- and ultra-high-net-worth clientele afforded me a working education in the design, fit, and finish of world-class homes and properties.
I earned an education in the business of building and managing residential homes and properties.
During the past 10 years, I began an advisory practice in the development of residential building contractor service departments, peroperty management.
In 2020, I relocated with my family to Santa Barbara, where I continue to work with architects, designers, builders, and principals in the advisory role of owner's representative and director of residence services in select national markets.
